WORKSHOP & ZINE
Altered States: AR and the Politics of Social Memory
Whose stories dominate memory? Who is “allowed” to participate in the process of placemaking? How do we construct alternative modes of engaging with a public space?
This zine was developed to supplement the curriculum of a Pioneer Works workshop aimed at teaching artists and activists how to use augmented reality (AR) to imagine alternative narratives in a process of communal fact creation. We taught tactics for designing speculative futures as well as methods for critically observing and engaging with space.
